How we're handling COVID-19

Every day that we open our doors we are committed to creating a safe and healthy environment within Mei Mei for all of our guests. With the current situation surrounding the spread of  COVID-19 and the understandable concern that it has created, we wanted to take the moment to reassure guests that, while it has always been policy that our staff is washing their hands regularly and keeping the restaurant sanitized, we’re being hyper vigilant in light of the spread of this virus.

Some of the measures we’re taking include:

  • advising any staff member who feels unwell to remain at home and consult with a doctor

  • expanding paid sick time eligibility beyond the legal requirements in the state of Massachusetts

  • removing self-service items (utensils, water cups, sauces) from the dining room and providing to guests as needed and by request

  • paying special attention to increasing the frequency at which we’re cleaning and sanitizing high-traffic surfaces such as touchscreens and door handles

Many restaurant businesses teeter on the brink of closure even at the best of times. As such, we ask that all our guests who are able continue to support not just Mei Mei, but other small local businesses who are also affected by this situation. Communities thrive and survive when they come together for mutual support, and especially in times as uncertain as these, we’re going to need each other more than ever. If you are attempting to limit your time in public spaces we offer take out options through a number of 3rd party services. If you're at home and hungry we’d still love to feed you ❤️

With love from our family to yours,

Irene & the team at Mei Mei
